A Certified Peer Specialist is an individual who is trained and certified to provide ongoing support to individuals and their families receiving mental health and/or substance use recovery support an services, CPSs work from the perspective of their lived experience to help build environments conductive to recovery. They promote hope, personal responsibility, empowerment, education, and self-determination in the communities where they serve.
Certified Peer Specialist Parent (CPS-P) Is a parent or legal guardian in a permanent relationship for at least 3 year certified by DBHDD who has the lived experience of raising a young person with either mental health condition and/or substance use disorder and has supported that young person in an experience of recovery.
Hours are M-F from 8am-5pm working with our C&A Programs. Must be willing to travel to other worksites/locations but primarily housed at the Journey C&A in Bulloch County, also a position in Appling is available.
Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required.
